Smoke and mirrors but no smoke

So the art show was a success.

The smoke machine didn't work though. Hence the tittle but it was still awesome.

There was a huge turnout, we even had the token wino passed out on the sidewalk in front of the gallery, and the person that i wanted to come most of all (Byron) came, everyone else I invited either didn't show witch is cool (I know people are scarred to drive to downtown) or did show but only hung out for a little bit because the Alcohol ran out (priorities.) Best thing about that was someone went out and bought a bunch more.

But anyway, the art show created hype (we all got really great feedback,) brought people together, and gave us all a great sense of accomplishment. Nick and Erik did a great job putting it together and Kendall is a Saint for letting us invade his art gallery.

Molly From Vivi Dot also made us some kick ass pins to hand out at the show. I will take pictures and post some of those soon too.

Hopefully I will have some pictures to post soon. I took some with my Holga and new Holga flash!
This should become an annual thing though I expect that this has lit a spark of creativity between all of us and I presume that we will be putting other gallery shows together, this time with more art and more more more.

This Weekend.

I have a feeling that it's going to be a lot like this.

I really hope I can get all my camera gear ready for the trip.

By 10 PM tonight we will be on the road!

We're going to San Fransisco!

The MRA clan is going to San Fransisco for some weekend fun. It's been a long time coming and I can't wait to get the hell out of LA for a couple of days!

I love taking pitures when we go out drinking; destroying and terrozing Los Angeles and Hollywood.

The image is poetic to me in a way. It almost looks like a beautifully choreographed dance.

Amongst Friends

People always comment about how tight our group of friends are. We've all known each other for a very long time.

Since highschool, some of us even before that.

We all grew up in a shitty little high desert town with nothing to do except break the rules and run around in the hills.

I always say that there was something in the water out there, and we are all just in the same brain wave. We're like a huge extended family.

It helps, I have very little family. My father lives in Ohin, and my mother and brother live 36 Miles away, and I currently am without a form of personal transpot.

My friends I see more than my family, and I love them.

Jam Sesh

When we were younger, we'd all ocassionally get together and make the stranges music we could muster. Sometimes we'd end up laughing so hard that we could no longer hold an instrument. Some of us have kept tapes full of hours of jam sessions that hold the most amazing music I've ever heard. Kind of like Frank Zappa meets Thin Lizzy, meets Aphex Twin, meets the beatles.
